  • Upon researching this cemetery, one can find quite a few websites with personal paranormal experiences, including lore about commonly occurring electronic battery drains, handprints of children on the car windows, notorious red eyes at the back of the cemetery, and some even report seeing a riderless white horse, a "glowing" headstone, EVPs of laughing children, etc. Personally, the most hair-raising experience I've had there, was a considerable tug on my lower pants leg, which almost caused me urinate on myself.

Scott Co., IN records show about 30 children (age 10 and younger) having their final resting place documented as being there, most (if not all) having indistinguishable grave markers. Maybe offerings of a few teddy bears could stir up observable activity from any lingering entities of the children.

Some lore depicts hangings (from an old resident Oak tree) and burials of black individuals there, but some self-proclaimed Bridgewater descendants openly refute these alleged happenings. Despite its proximity to black-sympathizing counties (one even had the Eleutherian College for women & blacks), Scott Co. has always been known for its minority of racist residents, so I would not say it's entirely improbable.

There are multiple videos on Youtube, of people doing their own paranormal research, providing more intrinsic mystery to this "seemingly serene" cemetery and is considered by many to be worthy of future investigations.

Please be respectful of the people who were laid to rest there and do not conduct any paranormal investigations, unless you can close a portal that you may unintentionally open (if there isn't one already open from decades of visitors' nonsense)- this is for your own safety.

  • My first trip 1 and a half years ago had much activity to it. Moving flashlight, random chills, even shadows. There is a back path that is rumored to be a a former place to practice witchcraft, although I was never able to find any signs of it.
Now, today, the cemetery has been vandalized, but is definitely worth still checking out.
